Beginner lessonsAimed at non-swimmers or swimmers who cannot comfortably swim a length, these lessons aim to build your confidence in the water. We will introduce you to basic swimming skills, then work with you to develop your skills so that you can comfortably swim lengths of front crawl and back crawl. There will be about six swimmers in each lesson. Â Beginner lessons take place in the learner pool, which is shallow.
Improvers lessonsAimed at confident swimmers who can comfortably swim lengths. These lessons build up your skills so that you are ready to join the main swimming club's development squad. There will be two lanes of improvers one faster and one slower, we will put you into a lane at the start of your lessons. The lessons are devoted to building your skills in the four strokes as well as building up your fitness. We also look at starts and turns. There will be about ten swimmers in each lane.
We also have a new improver lessons lane on Saturdays at Marshall Street at 6:45pm.
Joining procedure
You will be guided through the process of moving from group to group and on into the development squad by your teachers and by the club coaches. If you would like more information, want to ask a question or book a taster session please e-mail us. PaymentsThe monthly fee will be £45 for standard swimmers and £22.50 for low waged swimmers, this fee entitles you to one lesson per week and once you are ready it also entitles you to swim in the development lanes. Please set up your standing order to be paid monthly into the Out To Swim bank account and let us know the date you have selected- it needs to be before your first lesson.

Graduating from the lessonsAt some point your teachers will promote you into the main club sessions .. their work will be done! Lessons
We are now offering a two stage swimming lesson programme- beginners and improvers. We can take you from being a non-swimmer through to being confident with all the strokes and ready to join the development lanes in the main club. You can then choose to move on to the other aquatic discliplines if you like. If you always wanted to join OTS but felt your swimming wasn't up to standard then these lessons are for you.
