We are now offering a two stage swimming lesson programme so we can take you from being a non-swimmer through to being confident with all the strokes and ready to join the club. If you always wanted to join OTS but felt your swimming wasn't up to standard then these lessons are for you.
Eight week non-swimmers courseAimed at non-swimmers or swimmers who cannot comfortably swim a length, this course lasts for six weeks and aims to build your confidence in the water. We will introduce you to basic swimming skills, then work with you to develop your skills so that you can comfortably swim lengths of front crawl and back crawl. There will be a maximum of six swimmers on each course. Beginner lessons take place in the learner pool. Note: You may need to do more than one course before you are ready to join the six week improvers course. A waiting list is kept of people wanting to do lessons but priority is given to people already on a course so that they can continue to improve their swimming until they are ready to join the improver lessons. For this reason it is not possible to allocate new people to courses until we near the end of the current lessons and the swimmers decide if they will want to do another cycle of lessons.

Now what?If you have successfully completed the intermediate course and your coach feels you are ready to join the main swimming sessions, then please do so. The aim is to get you ready to swim with the main club. By signing up for lessons you became a member of the club for the remainder of the calendar year (or if your course started on or after 1 October then your membership is effectively for 15 months, i.e. until the end of the following year). You will, though, have to decide on what type of membership you want. A good way to start is with our Pay As You Go option. Please check the membership page.
