On Saturday 7 September, 9 swimmers headed down to Dover to swim with the Dover Channel Training group. We had negotiated a slightly later start time of 10:30 to ease very early getting up. We had a briefing from Emma France the head honcho on the Beach and then swam loops around the harbour.

Everyone had a nice time although Rick’s stuff got wet due to a leaky thermos, Rhys forgot his towel and Charlie S (ex OTS) wins the prize for rescuing Steph’s stuff from getting wet in the downpour - Steph was still in the sea doing butterfly. In true Channel swimming fashion after the swim we went to the cafe and ate everything in sight.

Sometime in November the Channel swimmers will host a short talk about their swims and you will be able to ask questions. We would hope to be doing some Channel Relays next year, if you are interested please let me (Vicki) know.
