Synchronised swimming challenge 2017
Wanted: A few good men
Out To Swim are looking for men to join a new group challenged with learning synchronised swimming in six months. Recently approved for men at national and international level, synchro combines swimming, dance, gymnastics and athleticism in a routine performed to music.
In weekly coached sessions over a 6 month period, you will learn basic and advanced water skills, develop your strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination and breath control. At the end of the course, in September, participants will perform their team routines at Out to Swim’s annual competition at the London Aquatics Centre, home of the 2012 Olympics.
Sessions will take place at 7pm every Monday at the Queen Mother Sports Centre, Victoria – starting 3rd April 2017.
The course is free* and open to over 18-year-olds with basic swimming skills. No experience of synchronised swimming is required. Although the course is primarily aimed at increasing male participation in synchronised swimming, it is also suitable for and open to female swimmers.
To reserve your place please please complete the registration form. Capacity is limited so please sign up soon to ensure you get a place.
The course is operated by Out to Swim and supported by the Amateur Swimming Association.
* There is a one-off £32 joining fee for participants who are not members of ASA affiliated swimming clubs. We also invite participants to donate towards running costs.
