Aquatics for All

London Swimming

Out to Swim offers a wide range of swimming sessions to suit all abilities. We offer over 80 hours of swimming sessions per month across London. All sessions are led by our experienced team of volunteers and swimming coaches. All prospective members are assessed at a Swimming Trial before joining by our coaching team and allocated to the most appropriate training squad for their current ability. As swimmers progress they can be moved between squads to make sure they are supported in their swimming journey.

Joining London Swimming

Unfortunately, our waitlist is currently closed. Our swim sessions are very busy as we’ve welcomed a lot of new members in the last few years.
We’d love to welcome new swimmers later in 2026 and we hope to re-open our waitlist soon. Please check our website regularly and check the Join page for more information.

The minimum standard to join club training is to be able to swim, non stop:
- 400m front crawl,
- 50m backstroke,
- 50m breaststroke and
- 25m fly

If you’re unable to swim these strokes/distances, you can join our Lessons programme where our teachers will help you and guide you.

Swim Training

Our training sessions are coached and swimmers are expected to follow the set given by the coach.

Please check our Training Schedule here.

Creating a great environment isn't just the coach's job. Each and every member shares this responsibility, check out our guide to Lane Etiquette and make sure you're on the same page with our Glossary of Swimming Terms.
At this point you'd be forgiven for thinking OTS are a focused bunch who only have time for swimming, well not quite - we host a wide range of socials all throughout the year that are open to everyone!

Lessons

OTS provides swimming lessons for those who want to learn how to swim or to improve their strokes so they can move to the next level, for more information please click here.

“Some of OTS’ top swimmers started their time in the club in Lessons. Many find that the group they feel comfortable with changes as their fitness varies. The coaches will let you know when they feel it’s better for you to try a different group. It's not about pride, it's about creating the best environment for you so even if you are asked to rejoin a previous group it's not forever and the decision is focused with your interests in mind.”
