Your wellbeing is important!
How we strive to safeguard your experience with us…
Ben Smith (he/him)- Welfare Officer
Swimming is a fantastic way to boost or maintain your overall wellbeing. Every time you get in the water, you raise your heart rate, build endurance, develop new skills, and support your physical and mental health. At Out to Swim B&H, we’re more than just a swimming club – we’re a community.
Many of our members have formed lasting friendships and enjoy the social connection that comes from being part of the club and taking part in our range of social activities. Out to Swim B&H offers every member the chance to develop their swimming skills, meet new people, and feel part of a thriving, supportive community.
To help ensure that all members, volunteers, and staff feel safe and supported, we have a dedicated Welfare Officer on our club committee – Ben Smith
“At Out to Swim B&H we believe swimming should be accessible to everyone in an inclusive and welcoming environment”
We are a Swim England affiliated club, and adhere to their Wavepower Safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure a safe and positive experience for all.
Members also have access to our Individual Assistance Programme, which offers information, advice, and guidance on a wide range of topics. You can learn more about this service here: OTS Individual Assistance Programme – Out To Swim
If you ever need support during your time with Out to Swim, you can contact our local Welfare Officer, Ben Smith (he/him), at brighton.welfare@outtoswim.org, or speak to him in person at one of our swimming sessions
Out To Swim (OTS) is an inclusive aquatic club that welcomes LGBTQ+ individuals and allies. We believe that aquatic sports should be accessible to everyone, celebrating diversity across gender, ethnicity, age, ability, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and religion within a supportive and discrimination-free environment.
