Out to Swim B&H is a vibrant and fully inclusive swim club in the heart of Brighton & Hove for LGBTQIA+ folk and their allies. We’re a friendly bunch who love being in the water – whether that’s for fun, fitness, or a bit of competition – and we’re just as big on the social side as we are on swimming.
Inclusive Swimming for Over 20 Years
Founded in 2006, our Brighton and Hove club is part of the wider Out To Swim network and, over the years, we’ve grown into one of the largest LGBTQIA+ sports communities in the area. We welcome adults (18+) of all abilities – from complete beginners to experienced competitors.
Our aim is simple: to help you enjoy swimming, build your skills, and feel confident in a safe, inclusive, and supportive LGBTQIA+ space – with plenty of opportunities to socialise and even compete at national and international events if that’s your thing.

Socials & Community
We’re more than just a swimming club – we’re a community. In and out of the pool, you’ll find a friendly, welcoming group of people who love to swim and socialise.
When & Where We Swim
We run coached lane swimming sessions three times a week across Brighton & Hove:
Monday (20:30-21:30): Prince Regent Swimming Complex.
Thursday (19:30-20:30): Prince Regent Swimming Complex.
Saturday (17:00-18:00): King Alfred Leisure Centre.
We offer open-water swimming sessions in the sea of Brighton and Hove during the summer months and opportunities to compete in national and international competitions.
Membership Options: Find Your Lane
Membership is open to all adults from age 18. We believe swimming should be accessible to everyone. Our community is truly intergenerational, with members ranging from their 20s to their 70s+, and we welcome all genders.
Whether you’re looking for a flexible Pay-As-You-Go option or a full-time membership, we have a plan to suit your lifestyle.

Out to Swim B&H is run by our lovely volunteer committee members. We also have a small subcommittee of club member volunteers to help with our promotion and recruitment programme.

Out to Swim Brighton and Hove is a Swim England affiliated club. We adhere to the Wavepower Safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure a safe and positive experience for all.
We believe swimming should be accessible to everyone in an inclusive and supportive environment. To ensure our members, volunteers, and staff feel welcome,we have a dedicated Welfare Officer on our club committee.
